RC / QA Advisor

Position Summary
The RC Quality Advisor leads the Quality Management System on site, including leading the internal and external audit programs and management system reviews and providing data analysis support for key performance indicators across the department. The role is responsible for quality data management and is integral to meeting the site’s document management objectives. The role will also support other RC functions, including acting as a key member of the investigation team.
Responsibilities
- Lead the internal and external audit program, including the L2 program which includes routine management system audits.
- Follow up on historic audit action items to ensure ongoing effectiveness of actions.
- Liaise with internal stakeholders to consider other audit sources (e.g., WSCS audits, work package audits, process safety audits, etc.), into a comprehensive action management plan that ensures continual improvement of the integrated management system.
- Lead the annual Management System Review.
- Coordinate all external audits (RC Verification etc.) as required.
- Provide data analysis support for a range of Responsible Care key performance indicators.
- Conduct detailed trend analysis and support the continual improvement of KPIs across the department.
- Provide data analysis information and support to the site H&S Committee for discussion.
- Manage the proper storage of data within Responsible Care, and in some cases provide support for proper data management in other departments, as it relates to the quality management system.
- Working with the Global Quality Team, ensure proper management of both local and global documents. This includes tracking document reviews and revisions, tracking KPIs and providing feedback to site management.
- Provide support to the site with regards to proper document management, in alignment with global guidelines.
- Lead minor and non-minor investigations to ensure strong root cause analysis and the development of meaningful corrective actions.
- Check-in on corrective actions for non-minor incidents and ensure ongoing improvements.
- Investigate select near misses to ensure continual improvement and action completion.
- Participate in incident quality reviews, to ensure the ongoing quality of investigations.
- Participate as an active member of the Global Quality Team (GQT). This team functions to create alignment between sites and to assemble site SMEs and global resources to ensure continual improvement of the global quality management system. 4 Conduct Health & Safety audits across all business lines on the site.
- Support the RC team in organizing awareness events.
- Support the H&S Committee with site queries around H&S related issues or topics.
- Provide support to other departments, as required. This may include planning of RC awareness events.
- Represent RC as required for project support, ensuring that RC principles are embedded within the project cycle.
Qualifications
Education, Experience, and/or Training
- Bachelor’s degree in a related field (quality management systems, environmental, engineering etc.)
- Minimum of 5-years related industry experience.
- Formalized lead auditor training (e.g., ISO) is preferred.
- Certifications in Quality are preferred (e.g., Lean Six Sigma) are preferred.
- Previous incident investigation training (Taproot, Appollo, Cause Mapping etc.) preferred.
- Experience working with integrated management systems.
- Well versed in data management software.
- Similar combination of education and experience may be considered.

- Attention to detail, ability to work with a high degree of accuracy and ability to work under pressure to meet tight deadlines.
- Strong communication skills that enable collaboration and relationship building throughout the team and between departments.
- Able to prioritize safety and core values of trust, respect, integrity, and professionalism.
- Strong technical report writing skills.
Security Clearance Requirements
- Transportation Workers Identification Credential (TWIC)
Software
- Proficient in MS Office Suite Software.
Physical
- The employee must be able to lift and/or move more than 20 pounds.
- Requires sitting, standing, and walking for extensive periods of time.
- Requires working under stressful conditions or working irregular hours.
- Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.
- Ability to work with a moderate noise level in the work environment is required.
Work Schedule
- Monday – Friday between 8:00am – 5:00pm, working the 9/80 schedule
- May work additional hours and days, including weekends and holidays as required.
